Dusseldorf German auto supplier continental was the victim of a cyberattack. According to Handelsblatt’s information, the hackers used data from Daxexploited group. The company confirmed this upon request.
A Continental spokesperson said it had launched an investigation into the incident “with the support of external cyber security experts”. It’s happening “high priority”, but it’s still going.
The “Lockbit 3.0” ransomware group previously posted an alleged chat history between online extortionists and continental negotiators on its dark web site. This indicates that a large amount of data fell into the hands of criminals as a result of a cyberattack on Continental at the end of August.
Minutes: Conte’s negotiations did not continue
According to Continental, it detected the attack at the time and “then averted it,” according to a press release. The group then announced that the attackers had not encrypted any data on the group’s private servers, and that no ransom requests had been made.
