The popular travel agency “2PS” on Altstädter Straße has also been empty since the end of October. The reason is sad. Owner Sabine Jörke passed away in early October. Building owner Steffi Noack wants to find a new tenant as soon as possible. But nothing has appeared until today. There were already some parties involved and they took a look at the circumstances. But there was no lease.

“I look closely at the offers that come here. They have to fit our city. If necessary, I also have my own idea that maybe I can implement,” says Noack.

Schuhhaus Littmann continues to run the store

Businessman Klaus Littmann explains that things could be done differently. The shoe store on Markt 3 closed at the end of August. Littmann’s sister, Marietta Teschke, ran the store for many years. Now I’m retired. “I already had a shop on Friedensstrasse. But I quickly decided to take over the market business and continue to run it. We closed for a few weeks, restarted business — and opened the shoe store again on August 10,” says Littmann.

“Vacant stores are not nice. The city needs revitalization. The interest of our customers confirms that I made the right decision.
