Simplification for crypto users: Opera Browser integrates Crypto Metamask with other wallets and provides a wallet selector that automatically switches between crypto wallets. Thus, according to Opera, the browser supports Web3.
According to Opera, it announces “one of the most important updates since its inception”. An innovation aimed at making life easier for cryptocurrency users is that the Opera Crypto browser now directly supports Metamask and other crypto wallets. A new wallet selector has also been integrated into the browser, which can be used to manage many different crypto wallets. Users can thus choose which wallet to use for each dApp or website without having to resort to browser settings: the selector is available in the browser’s address bar. In addition to Opera’s own wallet and metamask, all wallets available as Opera or Chrome extensions are supported.
Until now, cryptocurrency users usually needed multiple browser wallets if they wanted to deal with different crypto networks. This is because many wallets only support certain networks, and only a few offer features like in-app exchanges and storage. In addition, wallet extensions sometimes compete with each other. The Wallet Selector tool in Opera now automates switching between cryptocurrency wallets when exchanging tokens and transactions using dApps. Opera speaks of being a “game-changer for the broader Web3 ecosystem” and asserts that users no longer have to constantly go to settings or cycle through wallet extensions. For information: Web3 is a new generation of the World Wide Web that includes concepts such as decentralization, blockchain, and token-based economy.
The update brings Web3 closer to Web2’s experience before the Ethereum merger, says Susie Batt, Lead of the Crypto Ecosystem at Opera: “The upcoming merger is the most significant technical update in crypto history, Ethereum has gone from Proof-of-Work to Proof-of-Stake, Making it more scalable, secure, sustainable and usable for everyday users. Opera is the only browser truly ready for this transformation and the only one that gives web users the tools they need to experience Web3 in a secure environment.”
In addition to the wallet locator, Opera Crypto Browser now also provides easy access to over 11,000 dApps thanks to a partnership with Dappradar. Like websites, dApps can be accessed via a browser’s address bar. The update also revamps the Crypto Corner feature, including content customization and the hot tweets section. In addition, Binance Smart Chain (BSC) productivity farming app PancakeSwap is integrated into the Crypto Browser and is available in the browser’s native crypto wallet. This allows users to trade tokens directly from the wallet without having to connect to an external dApp. Favorite
