Kraft Heinz is recalling thousands of Capri Sun bags after accidentally mixing a cleaning solution with juice in a production line.
The company said it is recalling about 5,760 cases of a wild cherry-flavored juice mix (wild cherry Capri Sun). The expiration date on the packages is June 25, 2023.
Kraft Heinz said a diluted cleaning solution is used in food processing equipment. The company said it discovered the solution was accidentally mixed with the juice after receiving consumer complaints about the juice’s taste.
Kraft Heinz, based in Pittsburgh and Chicago, said in a statement Friday that it is working with retailers to remove the product from circulation. Consumers who have purchased affected Capri Sun must not consume it and must return it to the store where it was purchased for a refund.
