This will be the new flight of Cuba Airlines

The Colombian airline Wingo will make a new tours roads Starting next September to connect new tourist destinations.

The first direct flights will depart from Panama City to Havana As of next month, as confirmed by the authorities of Copa Holding, a subsidiary of the airline.

Other flights will also connect Panama City with Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic, starting in October this year.

Panama Pacifico International Airport will be the base of operations for the new flights for the time being, as it was also known. To buy tickets there will be promotional prices.

So far, the scheduled itinerary for the Boeing-737-800 that will travel the routes will be as follows:

  • Frequency twice a week, Tuesday and Saturday, for the river Panama-Havana Road. Prices will start at $111 one way and $69 a leg Havana Panama.
  • Frequently twice a week, Thursday and Sunday, for the trip Panama Santo Domingo. Prices will start at $103 for this section and from $81 Santo Domingo Panama.

The goal of these new routes is to make Wingo the only low-cost airline operating directly between Panama, the Dominican Republic and Cuba.

Wingo’s director of commercial and planning, Jorge Jimenez, told the official press that they will bet on competitiveness, with typical prices for a company profile lower.

In this way, visits to emblematic Caribbean destinations will be encouraged, while national and international tourism, as well as trade, will be promoted.

With the new Wingo lines, the airline is increasing route offerings by 40% and placing nearly 3,000 additional seats on the market per month.

In addition to these destinations, the airline connects Colombian cities and other international cities such as San Jose in Costa Rica.
