The Department of Consumer Affairs (DACO) reported Tuesday for the first time since March 17, that the price of regular gasoline in Puerto Rico is less than a dollar.
According to the agency, wholesalers reported an average drop of $0.03 per liter for regular gasoline, and $0.04 per liter for diesel.
“Diesel, for its part, will have maximum prices ranging from $1.12 to $1.22 depending on the brand. This is a significant reduction compared to the $1.54 per liter cap that this product reached in mid-June, when Record historical prices.
“The prices reported for today will apply to all stations that are replenished during the day. The tables reported by DACO reflect the maximum prices taking into account the maximum allowed as profit margin. For this reason, stations with prices lower than those listed in the mentioned tables can be found.“confirmed.
On the other hand, DACO reported that at the end of July, Puerto Rico’s fuel supply was about 20 days for regular gasoline (about 70 million gallons); 33 for the premium; and 58 for diesel.
