The United States Federal Reserve (FED) announced the highest rate hike since 1994 in order to stem the high inflation rates in the North American country. As a result, the dollar fell a bit on Wednesday, June 15th, however, it regained ground a bit this Thursday.

The Mexican peso was one of the currencies that depreciated against the dollar, and thus was the currency that fell the most today, followed by the Polish zloty by 1.60 percent, the Russian ruble by 1.58 percent, and the South African rand by 1.22 percent. The krone is 1.08 percent and the Norwegian krone is 1.03 percent.

In the US futures market, major indexes resumed their losses, with the S&P 500 down 2.43 percent and the Nasdaq down 2.91 percent.
