They found “organic matter” near where Pereira and Phillips were going in Brazil

(CNN) – Search teams discovered “organic” that appears to be “human” on Friday near where Aboriginal expert Bruno Pereira and British journalist Dom Phillips were headed to finish their journey, in the river near the port of Vanguard. do Norte, according to a statement issued by the Brazilian Federal Police.

This followed an update from the Federal Police on Thursday when traces of blood were found on a boat owned by the suspect in the disappearance of Pereira and Phillips.

The police will now see if these tests match. Genetic material was also collected from both Pereira and Phillips on Friday for comparative analysis.

In the past 24 hours, the crisis committee of the Federal Police has conducted a “strenuous search and aerial reconnaissance” in the Itakaway River region. Phillips and Pereira have been missing since Sunday morning.
