Family physicians aspire to an average of 10 minutes per consultation | Community

Family physicians want to “save time” and stop doing bureaucratic tasks that don’t work for them and aspire to dedicate an average of 10 minutes per consultation to meet the greater demand of chronic patients with other illnesses and people with mental disorders.

The president of the Spanish Society of General Practitioners and Family Physicians (SEMG), Antonio Fernández Pro, explains this in an interview with Effie, who stresses the care of chronically ill patients “who stayed home during the pandemic for fear of going out” and mental health, especially of adolescents, who have been affected strongly during these two years, they will be on the table at the 18th Congress of Family Medicine, which will be held this week in Bilbao.
